小ネタ 第3回

　今年のKing GeorgeはAscotが改修中の為にNewburyでの代替開催され、ご存じのように Azamour が勝ちました。トラックレコードで。だが、今回のトラックレコードはちとくせ者で、Racingpostではちゃんと注釈が入ってます。

　曰く、以前のトラックレコードは54年前に記録されたもので、この距離（12F 5Y）ではG1級の開催は無かった、と。つまり、今回レコードで決着したからと言って、今年のKing Georgeはレベルが高い、とは言えないのです（誰も言ってません）。

　24日にMaisons-Laffitteで行われたPrix Robert Papin (G2)は New Girlfriend という牝馬が3馬身差で勝利。その New Girlfriend に騎乗したSoumillon騎手、 New Girlfriend のことを Divine Proportions 並だなんて言っちゃった。いくらListed→G2とデビューから無傷で2連勝したとは言え、そんなことを言っちゃって良いのだろうか。そのコメントを受けてRacingpostは「第2の Divine Proportions 」だなんて銘打っちゃってるし。まぁ、関係者が大風呂敷を広げることは日本でもよくあることか。 New Girlfriend の次走はPrix Morny (G1)のようで、果たして偉大な先輩の後をどこまで追っていけるか見もの。
